Company History

The American Bard Theater Company was established in June of 2009. Fifteen actors and theater artists make up the founding members of the company. Each one has had the privilege of studying the First Folio technique with John Basil at the American Globe Theater in Midtown Manhattan. The members came together to continue exploring the First Folio technique in both its classical and contemporary avenues, putting a new spin on it while keeping alive a long line of theatrical tradition.
